Dog Massage

Have you ever thought about getting your dog a MASSAGE?

The art of healing has been around for centuries. Why not share the benefits of healing through touch? Dogs of all ages and breeds may be helped. Canine Massage is a gentle manipulation of soft tissue designed to help relieve pain, improve mobility, and aide in the natural healing process. Could Your Dog use a Massage?

Massage has many advantages for dogs. Let’s face it, our dogs get tight muscles just like we do. They run and play, some hike or run with their owners, all of this can put stress on their bodies. Then you have the dogs who are older and slowing down. Massage can help by improving circulation of blood as well as lymph, this not only promotes the removal of wastes but it can also help in flexibility  and range of motion. Massage can help dogs who are recovering from injury. Although massage is not always applied at the site of injury, it can help in the healing process by working tight muscles that are overcompensating for their injury. Even young puppies, especially those of larger breeds, can benefit from massage. Larger breed puppies can grow in their sleep, so  massage can help loosen the tissue to help ease the growing pains.

Benefits of Canine Massage

Canine massage has many of the same benefits as human massage, including, but not limited to:

· General well being and relaxation

· Stretching of tissues can help improve gait, posture, flexibility, and range of motion in joints

· Helps speed recovery from injury, as well as realigning scar tissue adhesions

· Promotes increased circulation of blood and lymph, helping to remove toxins as well bringing oxygen and  nutrients to the  tissues

· Sports massage helps dogs in competition with pre and post event treatments. It may also help improve concentration by removing body pain distractions. Great addition before, or after an agility dog event.

· Massage calms the nervous system, physically reduces pain and may reduce anxiety, in return calming your dog down
