By itself or in conjunction with other therapies, Reiki is a very gentle, yet powerful technique for relaxation and stress relief. It also aids in your body’s natural ability to heal itself. Sessions last from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Sessions can be done in person or long distance ( i.e. over the phone). During in person sessions the clients sit or lay comfortably (fully clothed) while the practitioner lays their hands on or above the clients body. While in a deep state of relaxation the client will generally feel either heat, warmth, coolness or what has been called “hot hands” coming from the practitioner. A long distance session typically occurs while the client is on the phone with the practitioner. Reiki is a very safe effective complementary modality that works well with conventional medicine and other alternative therapies. It never interferes with any medications or any other treatments, it also never causes harm. Reiki increases the effectiveness of other treatments and medications while decreasing negative side effects. Reiki has been known to improve, and reduce the recovery time, of any illness, injury or condition. Including but not limited to: Cancer, arthritis, migraines, muscle pain, surgical recovery, sinus problems, joint pain, inflammation, emotional stress, anxiety, nausea, menstrual cramps, headaches, insomnia, broken bones, depression, cuts, bruises, whiplash, back pain, post-traumatic stress (PTSD) and everything in-between.
